Come volunteer with the Coastal Corridor Alliance!

Join Gay For Good Orange County/Long Beach for a fun and impactful cleanup at the Santa Ana River Mouth. Volunteers will work together to remove litter and debris from the shoreline and surrounding areas, helping protect one of Southern California’s most important waterways while enjoying time outdoors with fellow volunteers.

Purpose
By volunteering with the Coastal Corridor Alliance, volunteers will help prevent trash and pollution from traveling down the Santa Ana River and into the Pacific Ocean. This project supports cleaner waterways, healthier coastal habitats, and the long-term protection of an ecosystem impacted by runoff from three counties and more than six million residents.

Additional Details
What to Wear:
• Appropriate clothing/footwear for walking on the beach
• A hat

What To Bring:
• A smile
• Water Bottle to stay hydrated
• Sunscreen
• An empty bladder: our site is 0.3 miles away from the closest restroom (a 6-minute walk).

If you have them:
• A trash grabber (for trash among the rocks)
• A sifter (for tiny pieces of styrofoam and plastic in the sand)
• **Gloves and a 5-gallon bucket will be provided

Parking/Transportation:
• Parking can be challenging to find, so please consider riding a bus, biking, or walking if possible.
• The closest bus stops are on PCH: Northbound stop 4966 and Southbound stop 4925.
• If driving, look for free street parking toward the west end of Seashore Drive (navigate to Newport Beach Tower 74).
• If no street parking is available, park in Parking Lot 1 at 7004 Seashore Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92663. This is a six-minute walk to our site (0.3 miles) and next to the closest restroom.

Accessibility:
• Requires a lot of walking or standing for extended periods (1+ hours)
• Must be able to walk short distances on uneven ground
• Involves repeated bending, squatting or kneeling
