Event Details

Kick off pride month with amazing music and performances at Salon Benders’.

Kristen Ford (Nashville, TN)
Kristen Ford plays indie rock which teeters into americana, electronic and pop. Her high energy live show as a one woman looping band has brought her to 48 states and 6 countries. No stranger to the recording studio, she has a slew of songs under her belt, her latest “Travel Songs” released on The Nation of Love Records.

Briget Boyle
Briget Boyle is a vocalist, songwriter, and guitar player based in Oakland, California. Her music showcases her diverse musical influences of Americana country, Eastern European vocal music, and ’90s rock. From a recent review on comeherefloyd.com: “You’d do yourself a favor to go and listen to the works of the melodic voice that drenches songs like ‘Heart-Shaped Mirror’. It’s good for your heart.”

Kameltoe Music
Kameltoe is a gutter punk queer whose sweet ukulele riffs will have you questioning your motives. Get ready to have your expectations twisted, turned, and shattered by a human to whom a bio cannot quite describe.

Cheyenne Avila is a Black and Mexican poet from Bellflower, CA. She has had poetry published in Crack the Spine and has had a nonfiction essay published in Prism Literary Magazine. She hopes to be able to use poetry to be a community organizer and to advocate for social justice for marginalized communities.

BENDERS’ is proud to host these powerful artists as part of realizing their mission: To create an environment for people to explore and express their individual styles and gender expressions by providing top-quality services in hair, makeup, education, and training while actively supporting art, expression, and queer communities alongside their allies in Long Beach and beyond.
