COME PAINT YOUR FEELINGS

Broken? Beaten? Damned? You’re in the right place because when I was a young boy my father told me to do water colors and sugar we are going down painting. We are going to be taking back Wednesday as we paint paint paint from the table side of one of Long Beach’s favorite queer owned buissnesses: Wood Coffee. Come ready to try so hard and paint so long and discover that in the end your artistic expression totally matters. If you are new to watercolor don’t worry it just takes some time little queer, your in the middle of the learning process, and everything everything will be just fine, everything everything will be alright alright.

This will be a fun, low stakes night where you can build community with other queer people and listen to all your favorite emo music. Once you purchase your tickets please email song requests to hello@rebekahroseart.com, SUBJECT LINE “EMO NIGHT SONG REQUEST”. Dressing up is not mandatory but it is strongly encourged to honor your inner angsty teenager and have some halloween fun.

No painting experience needed and all materials will be provided.

Wood will have pastries and drinks avaialble to purchase.

Flow of evening:

  • warm up drawing games
  • short watercolor painting lesson
  • painting and rocking out
  • show and tell

TICKET PRICING: Please purchase the ticket at the rate that makes the most sense for your income level. There are only 5 tickets avaialble at the $10 rate so only purchase this rate if you truly cannot afford more. Thank you <3

PARKING: Street parking, carpool or ride share recommended!

REFUND POLICY: I do not give refunds. If you purchase a ticket and can no longer attend, I encourage you to gift your spot to a friend. Thank you for honoring my time and energy.

ACCESSWood has one single stall bathroom that is ADA accessible. Masking is encouraged, please stay home if you feel sick.

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR:

Rebekah Rose (they/she) is a trauma-informed yoga teacher, illustrator and muralist living in Long Beach, CA. They work to destigmatize issues related to mental health, consent, social justice, queerness with a sense of humor and play. Their biggest priority as a teacher is to create a space in which people feel safe enough to be their honest selves in any given moment.
